| How to rip Saturn/Sega CDs to ISO/MP3/CUE by Barnito. |
I wrote this guide using the programs that I use. There are other ways to do this, don't ask me how.
Applications Needed:
ISOBuster
Sega Cue Maker
Acoustica MP3 to WAV Converter
Template.rar

Step 1: Extracting the Tracks:
Open ISOBuster and select the drive you have placed your Sega CD - Saturn Disk in. In this case it is drive G:\. (you can also mount a BIN/CUE, NRG, IMG/CCD or other imagaes with Alcohol 120%, Daemon Tools, Nero Image drive, or Virtual Clone Drive to rip it to a much smaller ISO/MP3) There will be a list of 1 data track and several audio tracks, labled Track 01, 02, 03, ect. Some disks have more audio tracks than others, some as few as one, so don't panic. Highlight all the tracks, right click and select "Extract Objects". Make sure to extract them into a folder labled with the games name and region.

Step 2: Making a CUE Sheet.
Open up Sega CUE Maker. Navagate to the folder where your ISO and WAV files
are now. Click the "Generate CUE" button, you will see the CUE sheet appear in the program window.

| Now save the CUE to the same folder. |

Step 3 Converting to MP3:
Make sure you go into Acoustica's options and uncheck the "normalization" and "Automatically remove silence at start and end of songs" Checkboxes. Now you right click on the wav files, and select "Convert to MP3"
When it is through converting, delete the WAVs, and move the MP3s out of the "Converted Audio Files" folder and put them where the WAVs were.

Step 4 Setting up the MP3 Decoder:
Extract the contents of Template.rar (Convert MP3.bat, README!!!!.txt, xaudio.dll, xaudio.exe) to the folder with the ISO/MP3s. Next right click on the "Convert MP3.bat" and select Edit. The BAT file will open in Notepad. Here we have 19 Total files so we need to delete all the entries past 19 in the BAT file. It will look like this when you are through....
Save your changes and close notepad. Now RAR it up and you are finished.... Congrats, you have successfully put together your first Sega CD - Sega Saturn Disk Backup!!!! |
